Daily Blogger-Tessa

I woke up and trudged into my closet this morning and sleepily picked out some clothes. “Only 17 more days” I muttered to myself. As I drove to school and went through my morning routines of putting my bag in my locker and so on I about had a heart attack when I realized what day it was. April 30th, my final daily blogger day.
In Science we took a pretest type of thing on check for learning and then talked about our up coming project on weather patterns. We are supposed to research a lace and predict its weather for the next two days. When the bell finally rang after 49 long minutes I walked down the hallway and into my second period English class.

In English we had a pretty relaxed day. We began with our usual DGP and then moved on to working on our ibook projects. My book is going to be about the rock cycle but other peoples are more exciting topics such as the Underground Railroad and the titanic. We will have one more class period to assemble our iBook. Overall this day is shaping up to be a pretty decent one.

Daily blogger- 4-24-14 Briaunna Parks

I woke up today in a good mood because it’s OHS students Friday even though it is only Thursday. I had a feeling that today was going to be a calm workday with not a lot of homework. It is much easier to wake up feeling happy then feeling stressed out. As the end of the school year comes closer I find it easier to wake up knowing that we have less than a month of school left.
I was right about the not a lot of homework thing. Today in English we got time to work on our rough drafts for our ibooks project that we are working on. We did that the whole period because the rough drafts are due Monday.
The day seemed to go by fast! I can’t wait for our three-day break. School will be over before we know it!

Daily Blogger April 23

Hello everybody! Yes, it’s me again but do not worry this is my final appearance on this blog. Today, Wednesday, April 23 was an extremely uneventful day in English class. All we did was discussed our IBook then work on our number notes. Mrs. Troester walked around and signed everybody’s yellow packets. We didn’t do anything else during class other than this.

Earlier today in my reading class we did almost the same exact thing. We worked on our Nothing But the Truth projects with our groups. My group decided to do play in which we are planning on acting out Monday. We are hoping it will work out smoothly because none of us have been able to practice it yet. Wish us luck!

English and reading class were very similar today because all we did in both classes was worked on projects on our own. The thing that made English class interesting for me was the fact that I had to be daily blogger and it was going to be my last time. Considering the fact that it is my last time I hope it did fantastic and I hope you enjoyed it.

Daily Blogger

You know, these weeks are getting better and better. Lately, we have only had around three full days of school each week. It makes school a lot easier to get through. In civics class today, we took a quiz and read and Upfront magazine. I feel like that has been what we have been doing everyday lately.
In English class today, we finished up DGP. We also did a journal writing about what we were going to do for our iBooks. I decided to do mine on JFK because there is so much interesting history behind him and his family. Mrs. Troester then explained to us how we would to our notes. It is called the number method and works a lot like an outline. To me, it seems much more simple.
Overall, I feel like we had a very successful English class (it always is!). I am very excite to get to start on our last big project for the year!

4/22/14

Today after the long four day weekend is a great day to be daily blogger. Today is Tuesday and there is a junior high track meet, good luck eagles. Also today third period started like any other day with Mr. Hosterts hilarious jokes. And talked about the political parties in America and finished watching a video that he had showing us. Than we went to English and talked about our iBooks and when we have to have things done to put it together. We also worked on out notes and tried to get them done. And researched our topics and finish our notes. Mrs. Troester showed us a calendar of this and next week to see when we have to hand in things for the iBooks.

After lunch we got to go see the track meet for a while and saw OHS students participating on field and running events, and other students from other schools. Good Luck Eagles

Daily Blogger

Today in Reading we were told either to read "Nothing But The Truth" or work on our ibook for english. Most of us worked on the ibook because we finished the book. I finished part of my ibook during that time. We didn't have english because today is the high school track meet and almost everybody is either in the track meet or working at it.

Daily Blogger 4/17/14

A Friday on a Thursday is a spectacular way to have a school day! Not only is today our last of school this week, but we also don't have any classes except first period. Today was the O’Neill High School Track Invite. The junior high track kids and teacher are helping out with the track meet, so that meant the rest of us have a full all day study hall day.

In study hall every kid gets to work on any homework, anything educational, or read a book. I really like today because I will be able to get more done than you can imagine, and I also will be able to get a head start for things that are due in the upcoming weeks. When I am done I will get to read my fabulous and interesting book called Save Me. There are some kids who won't get as much accomplished as they could probably. In this long hard working day you can work on your notes for you iBook, read Nothing but the Truth, work on late assignments, and any other educational homework o something else. I hope all goes well at the track meet and every one tries their very best.

Today so far is simple, hard-working, uncomplicated, and accomplished day of homework, for some of us. Don’t forget that your notes for English class will be due on Thursday, April 24th. You can get a layout example on blackboard if you want to see how you can set up your notes. Have a extraordinary Easter break!

Your notes are due April 24th. To get a layout to use or for an example you can go to Blackboard and download the file.
Have an amazing Easter break!

Today is the high school track meet. There is a lot of kids working the track meet but the others are in study hall all day. I’m one of those in the study hall all day. It’s going to be a long day with the same teacher all day. I have nothing else to do I finished my homework and that’s all I have.

Daily Blogger- April 11

It was a warm April day I walk through the big doors of the high school and it went through me that I was daily blogger today.
In English today we worked on a couple of things. The first thing we did was our journal and we got to write about anything we wanted. I had no idea what to write about at all so I just talked about the NESA test and how boring it was. Then Mrs. Morrow got the sticks out just like she does everyday. The first person she called on was Trevor and he talked about the track meet. While Trevor was reading I was stretching and Mrs. Morrow thought I raised my hand so of coarse I had to go. After me it was Tyler that also talked about the track meet. The next thing we did in English was to work on our Dgp that we have to do everyday. So I grabbed my orange Dgp sheet out and started to work on the graph of the sentence. After we did Dgp Mrs. Morrow started to name off things on our sheet for the newspaper. I almost fell asleep during that but then Gabby snapped me with a rubber band. So I grabbed her Rubber band and snapped it in two. Finally when Mrs. Morrow stopped talking about the thing we got to get a partner and pre-review but we only had 10 minutes so we only had time to read the article. This is what we did during English.
Today in Reading I had no idea that we had a test. I think I didn’t do so hot on that test. But a good thing about Reading today is that I finished the book “Nothing but the truth”. The ending is the most stupid ending I have ever read. Then in Math we are getting ready for the NESA test next week. Sarah marked me with a blue marker and it was all over my leg. So I got her back and got marker all over her arm. Then in the next class I had been civics. Once the bell rang Mr.Hotstert told us the joke of the day, geography questions and then the presidents. The joke of the day I just used my fake laugh like I do everyday. I got both of the geography questions right so I got two stickers. The president we had today was the last president that we had and that president was Barack Obama.  After the president we watched a video about the kkk. This is what we did so far on this day.
This was the last time I will ever do daily blogger :( . Well this is what we did today in English. Bye daily blogger!

Daily Blogger #4

Today we didn't have reading, english, or history because we had our nesa tests. It was great because we had no homework and for 4th period we went out to the basketball court and played basketball. Not to mention when we went out in between test and played. Test was decent. Most of them were easy not very many that were hard.

April 15th Daily Blogger

To say that April 15 is a bad day is an understatement. Not only did the Titanic sink and more than 1,500 people died in 1912, but also there were many other catastrophic events that took place on this dreadful day. In 1989, 95 people were crushed to death in Sheffield Soccer Stadium in England. A disastrous earthquake took place on Montenegro coast in 1979. On this day Abraham Lincoln died in 1865. 43 people died when two express trains collided head-on south of Bologna, Italy in 1978. Also, a fire swept through a campsite of Muslims making the Hajj pilgrimage in 1997. The official death toll was 343. In 2002, an Air China Boeing 767-200, flight CA129, crashed into a hillside during heavy rain and fog near Busan, South Korea, killing 128 people. More recently, in 2010, volcanic ash from the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland led to closure of airspace over most of Europe. Today is also the first year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. 3 people were killed and 183 were injured.
As I wandered aimlessly in the hallways this morning, I noticed everyone was in their track sweats and ready to take on Boone Central this afternoon. Not like normal mornings, I went to Mrs. Troester’s room for Nesa Testing. Yay!:( I don’t know about everyone else, but I hate testing especially now since we can’t have gum or water. The state doesn’t understand what it’s like to take tests for three hours with minimum breaks and not have water to quench our thirst. So far the worse thing that has happened was our computers didn’t cooperate to set up our testing. Eventually we got them ready and started testing. The testing was over math and had two sessions. Due to testing, we missed our 1st through 3rd period classes. We also have a JH track meet later in the day. We depart from the school at 12:30 or 12:45ish. The meet is in Albion and doesn’t start till 3. Mrs. Hostert says it’s going to be cold and long. On the paper it said that running doesn’t start till 5:30, so it will be a long day. I think we will be taking one bus.
Will all the bad things that have happened on this day, it’s not a surprise that Mr. Morrow, aka the MLB Pitcher in the hall of fame, was born on this day. Daily Blogger was really easy today because we didn’t have English, but nonetheless we still had an eventful day.  So before I wrote this we had our track meet, but I recently just heard that if was postponed to Tuesday. Tuesday is the O'Neill meet, so that's that. On the bright side however, we have a 2:30 dismissal.

The Titanic that sunk on this fateful day.

Nathaniel; April 11th 2014

Today I walked into a land of the sun burnt faces. I can safely say though, they were worth it. The team as a whole did great yesterday at the West Holt track meet. Looking into the future at Boone and beyond looks bright for the O’Neill junior high track team.
Today in English class we started off as we usually do with Daily Grammar Practice. On Friday’s we usually diagram the sentence, and that’s what we did. The remainder of the day was slow paced because people needed caught up on their news articles for the Norfolk Daily News. While that was being done Mrs. Morrow talked gave us numerous tips about how to write our news article. Some examples were, not being to wordy, have accurate facts, don’t start sentences with “there is”, and other tips that I blanked out on. After that the people who had finished their articles peer reviewed with other students until the end of class. Don’t forget all news articles need to be submitted to blackboard by Monday at noon!

Unfortunately we have NESA testing on Tuesday. Fortunately, the math test is the last one. Unfortunately, they put them on the day of our next track meet. Speaking for you for the last time here is Nathaniel.

Daily Blogger- David B. Hoss Jr

Today in Reading class we were going to take a practice test but we had problems. After a while we gave up and started answering the word that matched the definition that was on slips of paper. Though, towards the end of the class period they had figured out the problem, but it had been to late to start, so we didn't do the test. English class was better because we spent the most time talking about how the first day of testing had gone. Most of us agreed that the teachers were a little strict and that it would have made it easier if we were able to have drinks and snacks. After our discussion we talked about our piece of writing that we were supposed to do, and how the people were going to be chosen to be on the page in the news article.

Last Daily Blogger

Today I walked out of my room and got ready for the day. I was tired. I checked my iPod and saw that there was nothing new. So then I cut I piece of banana break and got a glass of milk. My mom and sister finally got into the car and we were driving away. We were running behind a little, nothing new, but I still got to school in time.  When we got to school I went into the lunch room and sat at the table with my friends like every morning. Then I came into English class and opened up my computer. And of course the little notification popped up and said, “Daily Blogger!” The only good thing about being daily blogger today is it’s the last time I will ever be daily blogger!
Today we start out testing in English class. We couldn’t figure out what site it was and our passwords so it took a long time. We finally found it out after a while. Then we went to math and did the assignment. We all were assigned homework just like almost everyday. Now I am in Civics learning about the Presidents. I am very excited for tomorrow night because we get to go to Lincoln for State FFA. Well I better get to my work! Bye!

Daily Blogger 4-8-14 Aurora Gutshall

It is an exciting and busy week here at OHS, but especially us Jr. High kids. With NeSa Testing today and Thursday, the first track meet of the year at Atkinson, and state FFA and FCCLA is keeping everyone occupied. But, before any of those things take place: we've got to get back to English class.

I got to class, and we immediately sat down and started on our DGP papers. After we wrapped that up, we took up our work again on our news stories for the section of the Norfolk Daily News that we will be publishing soon that talks about technology. We were given packets and  small groups brainstormed some modern technology topics like 3D printing and our 24/7 learning style at our school. Writing about things like this in a newspaper will help some older adults understand how important modern technology is to students. As homework for tonight, we are supposed to flip to the second page of the packet and fill out the prewrite of your article.

In conclusion, we are getting further and further into our news report project, and even closer to the end of the school year. Since this is my last Daily Blogger post, I'd like to wish everybody a happy rest of the school year (or as happy as school can be) and I'll see you this summer!

Daily Blogger by Gina Klabenes

Today walking into the school heading to my first period class stopping by my locker like I always do. In my first period class we played current events. I was the keeper of the eye it was fun. The girl’s won for once it’s always the guys who win.
In English we did something new. We downloaded an app called Nearpod. I did not get to try it though cause it took the entire period to download. Everyone who has that class knows that the internet never works in there, so who ever missed Friday did not miss that much.
In science my next class we took a Check for Learning test. It will help me to prepare for NESA next week. Daisy was my partner we did well I think it was 56 long questions. Following my other 5 periods school was out for the weekend. One more thing I want to say high five Friday

Today as I walk through the school door I realized that I am the daily blogger. So today I will tell what I did in my classes so in English we tried to go on an app on the ipads, but for some reason something went wrong with the ipad so we used the ipads that did work and we got partners and went to work, but the bell rang so it was time to go to 3rd period.

Sarah Tunender 4-4-14

Walking through the doors of are lovely OHS. Opening are computers we learned about this guy who made a mistake when he was younger and might be suffering consequences. We took time to think about if he should be pardoned for his crime or not.  Than opening are folders’ did DGP. Than Mrs. Morrow showed us a presentation. About punctuation. And than in science Mr. Morrow talked about a test we took. And tomorrow we will take a cheek for learning NESA test. And he let us do that with a parter. And also did are Voc checking it.  And  so we have no homework and so no homework tomorrow and we can all have a fun weekend. And that is it for today. And I hope tomorrow is as great as today was.

Daily blogger Jayde (late big time)

As I went to reading, I could not stop thinking that I won’t be able to get English done. I have to finish my essay or I’ll be dead. I know that I won’t be able to get it done and I will be in so much trouble. In reading we corrected our vocabulary and I missed three. Three!! Oh well. We also read the story Pandora’s Box and I was happy. I love Greek mythology and I kind of already read it before class.
After that the bell rang and I went to my seat in English, it is in the same room. We started with our DGP. It stands for daily grammar practice. Since everyone is taking the test tomorrow, we did Wednesday and Thursday.
Then we did Hot tips, which are just stuff that helps us redo or revise sentences. I told Mrs. Troester that I didn’t have my essay done, and she told me to do it in Study Hall and hand it in then. I was so relieved. We started on making our conclusions better and talking about dialogue. A lot of the class had to go to band photos and 4 other kids went with Mrs. Morrow. Also we looked inside a dictionary and Mrs. Troester said, "That we will be using this dictionary for the NESA writing exam. We will be taking a test over it tomorrow."
I think I have homework in English not to mention another piece of homework that I didn’t turn in. I am so dead. Hopefully I will be able to finish it before tomorrow.
The hot tips for compelling sentences that we did for English. Shayne going to his seat to work on his conclusion.

Daily Blogger Post

This is my late daily blogger entry because, being me, I thought I did one but it was for the last time. I am glad I get to inform all of you about today because…. TODAY IS FRIDAY! Everyone is super excited for the weekend because since it is the week before testing we C4L tested in almost every class. During math some people had to log in at least 30 times before they could actually take the test. After they got in though they did really good. I believe that our class is going ace these tests.

Today in English class we did the same thing as yesterday. We tried to get the IPads to work but they wouldn’t because of the terrible Internet that we have during second period. We were going to use an app called Nearpod. While we were trying to figure out how to handle the problem we hear Nathaniel and Jared’s voices over the intercom saying, “Hello, if you please will everyone with a recycling box in their room please send a student with the box to the lounge. This is going to be our weekly routine from now on. Thank you”

This week has been a very busy week for all but just wait till next week. I would just like to say good luck to everyone who testing, even though you probably don’t need it. Have a great and relaxing weekend everybody. Good luck and Go Eagles.

Today as I woke up I was ready to hear both of my brothers to fight, but today it wasn’t both of my brothers it was one of my brother and me. I hid some money from my brother and he was not in the mood for a joke. Today we had a test over the Rosenberg’s’ and how they sent to the electric chair for committing conspiracy of espionage which means spying on the U.S. on how to build an atomic bomb for Russia. In English class we used Ipads to use an app, which is almost like socrative. We talked a little bit about the guy that is accused of being a sex offender and if he should be pardon of a crime he committed when he fourteen years old. That is what happened today in english class.

Dawson K. 4/4/2014 late blogger

Today during English today we first wrote in our journals. I couldn’t find any thing to write about so I wrote about what I was going to do this weekend. Second we got on the I-Pads and we got on an app called nearpod and we enter our names and answered a bunch of questions and stuff. That’s what we did for English today.

4/4/14

As I groggily woke up this morning I realized today I get to write my last Daily Blogger. At first I thought it would just be a hassle to do, then I realized it actually helped us become more advanced writers.
The smell of cinnamon rolls aroused my nostrils as I walked into the lunchroom to greet my friends.  As we walked into English class today we were asked to grab an Ipad so we could get an app running so it would work later in class. After that we grabbed out our journals and wrote about an historic event, which is Free Write Friday. I wrote about the “fun” events that will take place this weekend. Right after that we snatched our folders from our boxes and took out our DGP and diagramed the last one for this week. We then awakened our Ipads and opened the app Nearpod, after some of us had to download it. We then waited for everyone to put their names in and we got going on the adventure. It was pretty fun to draw our answers instead of raising our hands and answering them verbally. Remember to not overuse the exclamation point!!! Also don’t forget to complete your vocab study guide in Mrs. Troester’s Reading class. I hope you all have a great week. Today seems to be a relaxing and enjoyable day.
Groggily walking from class to class I realized how much I’d miss Daily Blogger. It truly gave us practice to become superior writers.

I wake up I’m getting dressed and I remember. “I am the blogger today.” I come to school this morning and start writing. I’m in Eng. and writing my blog. In the past 2weeks we gave our speeches. I also learned a lot on my project I did my speech on. In history class we played some current event. Also in English class we are learning about a guy that went to college and was a punter in football. He got caught with a video he made when he was 14. Now he is on the sexfender list.

April 3, 2014~ Late Daily Blogger

As the count down to Friday begins our dreary Thursday morning the gossip fills the halls of our very own O'Neill Public High school. As I stroll through the halls I hear everybody talking about the crushes, the couples, the fights, and the random stories of what happened the night before. The chatter continues as I make it down the eighth grade hallway. I throw my gym bag above the locker and I see Paola and she walks me to Mr. Morrow's and then the bell ran. I rushed to the water fountain to get a quick drink before our mundane review for NESA testing. We went over approximately fifteen questions before the bell rang for the second time that morning.

It was off to English. Before English started Amanda and I went on our little walk around the halls and telling stories of what happened during the ten hours we weren't talking. The straight back to make sure we weren't late. We started off English with our daily grammar practice. The only thing we had to do was add a period at the end of the sentence and capitalize the first letter of the sentence as well. After we finished we started writing on our journal topic that proved to be very thought provoking and debatable. We read an article about a twenty five year old registered sex offender trying to get a pardon to be able to get in to the NFL. When we finished reading the article we had to write down our opinion about if we thought he should be pardoned or not. Subsequent to that we continued the NeSA language review. The review today consisted of punctuation. Before we could get to the review on the computer the bell rang but luckily we finished the review power point.

To finish out the day we had a surprise nutrition speaker before the Jr.High went to our track practice or P.E. if you aren't in track. The speaker addressed the good habits we should start doing as our daily routine. He talked about how we needed to eat breakfast every day and get proteins in our diet. He also talked about how we needed to drink a gallon of water and twenty-four ounces of milk each day. After all of the uncalled for questions he wrapped up the talk and we headed off to track practice.

Make sure you drink the right amount of water and milk every day!

Daily Blogger- April 3, 2017: Late

Waking up this morning, I was quite relieved that it was Thursday. I only have to get through today and tomorrow and then it is the weekend. With that being said, I sadly don’t have any plans… Today in civics class, we played the current events game. The boys beat the girls, but that is only because I was the keeper of the eye!
In English class, we started off with doing Daily Grammar Practice. We then moved on to an article in the Norfolk Daily News about a man who wants to get into the NFL, but he is having trouble because he is a registered sex offender. After we finished reading it, we wrote in our journal about what we thought about that article. When we finished writing, we shared our thoughts out loud in a discussion. Once we finished that rather heated debate, we moved on to a Power Point over punctuation.
Overall, I feel like we had a very productive day. It was nice to have a little bit of change in what we were doing, rather than the normal English class. If only all my classes could be as fun as English! ;)

Today as I walked through the luxurious door of O’Neill High School, I had one thing on my mind. It’s exactly one week before my first track meet. I have been waiting for it to be this close for over a month, but I am sure others thought differently while walking through the O’Neill High Schools doors. For example some may have been thinking that it is getting close to this weekend. I am sure all were dreading their first period class though, mine is science. I walked in and I knew that today was the day we had to review our Check for Learning. I hate doing this except for the fact that it does help me on my NeSA testing. Everybody paid really good attention to Mr. Morrow, which I am sure he was happy about. Overall I think we had a good first period!
As I walked down the stinky hallways of OHS, I had one thing on my mind English. I don’t hate English, but we don’t necessarily get along! Most of all I am not the best writer. To start off today we did daily grammar practice. It was really easy because we only had to write the sentence down correctly. It took us all about two minutes and then we reviewed with the class about what the corrections were. Then we moved on to writing in our journal. We had to read an article about a sex offender who is asking for a pardon. We all wrote our opinions and then shared them with the class. This took awhile because we had to read the article and the write down what we thought. For the past few days we have been doing a language review. Today our topic was punctuation. I am not the best at punctuation, but I have to sharpen up my skills because of the NeSA testing that is coming up soon. Today we were supposed to review on the computer, but since class time was running short all we had to do was review the PowerPoint. I am lucky to have made it out of English class alive!

The yucky smell of school could make me puke! That is usually how I feel about school, but so far today it has been pretty good! I am excited for track practice because that means I am one day closer to my first meet, which is exciting. Mrs. Morrow has taught us a lot about language review this week. Mrs. Troester is always there to help us with our questions, which is extremely nice. All in all those two make a good team of teachers and
help our class learn a lot about what we are capable of! That’s all for this Thursday, April 3, 2014 it looks like it’s clear skies from here on out!
