As I walked into the school this
morning, it was almost like I was in a different setting. There weren’t any
sweat pants or t-shirts. Almost all the girls in eighth grade were dressed up.
That’s right, today was game day in Eagle Nation. We played Neligh-Oakdale.
School was the last thing on my
mind today. During first period, we spent our time studying for our map test
over Russia and the Republics. I wasn’t really all that focused. I spent most
of my time talking to Justin, Wyatt, and Haley. Needless to say, Mr. Hesse
wasn’t too happy about that. In English class today, we started off with a
journal writing. The prompt was what type of grading system you prefer. Your
two choices were additive grading, which is a type of grading where you start
your grade at zero and work your way up, or the type of grading we use now. It
was really interesting to see what people thought on the topic. We also learned
a lot about complex sentences. Mrs. Morrow gave us a worksheet over complex
sentences, which is due tomorrow. We then moved on to talking about posting a
final draft of one of your writings to canvas for the whole writing exchange to
see. You aren’t supposed to post it just to your group. We worked on that for
about the last twenty minutes of class.
Overall, we had a very successful
English class. We also had a very successful night in JH girls basketball. Both
teams won by a lot. I can’t wait until our next game!
