Destruction... all I saw when I walked in today was destruction. In every hallway there was something destroyed. We're not sure if the frustration of the seniors' loss boiled up and they went around and tore things down or if the tape was just to weak and couldn't hold up all of the great decorations. A huge poster in the 7th graders hallway was on the ground, a poster of ours was on the ground, the streamers in the freshman hallway was down and the sophomore hallway was the worst they had over half of they things on the ground. But aside from all of that it was crazy during english today. The first thing we did was we all took two quizzes for some groups CBL projects. Then we all went and looked at all of our groups blogs and gave them feedback and read what feedback they gave us. Someone in Nikki and Shelby's group wrote a excruciatingly discomforting poem. There wasn't one person in the class that wasn't disgusted by it. The disgusting poem didn't stop anyone in the class from dressing up in the professional football gear. Some of the boys are wearing their jerseys because they have a football game against Ainsworth later tonight.  Good luck and go eagles as our teacher Mr. Hostert would always say. Today was a very crazy yet somewhat productive day.

Today we had to give feedback to our groups. My class is part a writing exchange and will be going to Lincoln on October 2. I'm excited to go there and meet the  other people in my group and we will get out of school that day. In math class we have to do a ixl so we don't have homework. Tonight the Jh team will be going to Ainsworth, NE to team football.

Its homecoming week in OHS! During homecoming week you get to see everybody dressed up wacky and playing games. Today in English we worked on our cbl project and our 2a and 2b worksheets. Mrs. Morrow talked about what we should have our cbl project to look like. We also got to watch some videos the last year 8th graders made for inspiration. After English we got out of school early so we could decorate our hall. After that the whole school watched eagle Olympics. The seniors won the Olympics but we won the best hall decorator.

Blue and red where the first thing I noticed when I walked into the English room today. Since its homecoming week we have dress up days and today’s was class color day. Our class colors are blue and red. This morning there was judging and we had 3 people out of our grade win! (Jared, Nikki, and Tayte) In English class we started by writing in our notebooks about home coming week and school spirit. We had some kids share their writings, and then we moved on and handed in the work sheet 3B. After that we talked about our CBL projects and the interviews. Each CBL group has many options of a way to present their data and information they gathered. Mrs. Marrow passed out a storyboard to help us complete our videos. She also showed us some examples of CBL projects of former students to give us some ideas. We got time to work with our groups on these things.  - Wyatt Liewer

9/24/13 By Marissa L.

This week is homecoming week, so today was musician day. Out of our class Tessa and Mikayla won from the student council, and Nikki was one of the cheerleaders favorites. To start off English class we started with typing on why our school should be an Apple Distinguished School (ADS). We did this writing because Mrs. Morrow has to make an iBook for why she thinks our school should be an ADS. We posted what we typed on our blogs. Next up Mrs. Morrow passed out our 3A and 3B simple sentence paper. We did 3A together and 3B is homework and due tomorrow.

Yesterday was Powder Puff Football and Iron Man Volleyball. We got third in both volleyball and football! Today is fairytale day. Aurora and Tessa both won in our class. In English class today, we started out by talking about CBL. She told us that our final solution would be due next Monday. Our journal writing for the day was our thoughts about the writing process. We also went over how to give good feedback on our Where I’m From poem. How we give our feedback is the two stars and a wish method. You write down two specific things about the writing that you liked. The wish part is what you wonder or wish the author did differently. After they showed us how we should give feedback, we had to go to our groups, and put it into action. We read the other people’s poems, and started to give them feedback on what they could do differently. Overall, today we had a successful day.

Well today was my turn to be blogger. Today in 8th grade English we had to pratice on these green sheets. We had to write about how to comment on our wrighting group for UNL. Then we did it for real. But it was kinda confusing on how we had to do it. But finally we all found out how to do it. Also we had to work on our simple sentence lesson. Well that is It for what we did today.

Mrs. Morrow talking to kids about our CBL project.
Today is a Friday so everyone's excited for the weekend. In History we took our Canadian provinces and territories test. Then we played a game where we split into two groups and answered random questions. Justin and Blair got MVP. Like usual the North side won. To start English class off we had "Free Write Friday" where we could write about anything we wanted to. Then Mrs. Troester and Mrs. Morrow went over who had what turned in and who needed to turn what in. Mrs. Morrow explained to us what we needed to do for our CBL project. We all got into our groups and worked on it. Last night the JH volleyball team played at Ainsworth and won both games! The JH football team played hard and West Holt went home with the win. Also, there is a XC meet today in O'Neill. Tomorrow the JH volleyball team has a tournament at St. Mary's.
