Today
English class was all day. It started with an early bus ride starting at 6:30
A.M… yay (NOT).
When we got to Lincoln the first
thing we did was tour the art museum. Some people didn’t really like it because
it was “boring” or “it looked like a 1st grader made it”. I can
partially agree but some of it was cool. We explored the museum and answered
the questions on a paper we were handed at the entrance of the museum.
After the art museum we were lead to the library. It was
HUGE! We walked around for a while, and then we sat down and wrote about a
writing prompt we were given. Some people wrote poems, some wrote stories, and
others pretended that they were an object and wrote a story about their life as
that object. Then we moved on.
We walked to the meeting room type
thing and met the people from our groups. While we were in those groups we
shared some writing and then we had pizza and played games to get to know each
other. My group played a game where we tossed a ball with questions on it. When
you caught the ball witch ever question fell off was the one you answered. If
no questions fell off you just picked one off. Some of the questions were: what
is your favorite breakfast food? What is your pet’s name? And if you don’t have
a pet what pet would you want? After our small groups we listened to some of
the kids from our own school and other schools read a piece of their writing.
Nikki, Gabbie, and Shayne shared from our school. After that was open mike and
Wyatt shared his “I Am From” Poem.
